Here's that skin damage I cut out in order to allow me to puch out the strut mount bolt
Step one is to make a paper template of the doubler I want to fabricate
Here's some 2024-T3 0.20" for the horizontal stab. The doubler patch will be made from .032" sheet
I had to work with the previous mechanics existing hole pattern so it's not as pretty as I'd like but it'll work
Another piece of skin will be riveted to the doubler filling the cutout and creating a plug that will be flush with the outer skin
I thought of dimpling and installing flush rivets but the cutout isn't big enough for the squeezer head
The proverbial cluster of clecos
Progress - slow but relentless
Hell, I'd a been done but the darn dryer went Tango Uniform on us. This
is about the third time I had it taken apart
trying to fix it. The motor bushings are shot so looks like we'll be
buying ourselves a new dryer for Christmas
