Moving Day

New bearings about to get their first greasin'

Finally back to 'rolling carcass' status!

The new brakes drag a bit. I'm thinking I might have to tow it behind the truck and see if they won't 'size' themselves

Getting the gear back together was a big milestone but it was only a precursor to the really big step

Going back to the airport

Sure it's a tiny little airplane but it takes the biggest U-Haul trailer they've got to carry it and it just barely fits

It sat back here for a long time (too long I know) It's time to say goodbye to the old VAR-H1

Outside the City Limits now. Next time Romeo sees Antioch it will be from 1000 feet above

Nice day for a scenic tow

Pictures seemed appropriate as we felt this was a momentous occasion

The new crib

Once on the airport grounds there's suddenly nothing odd looking about this sight at all

Oh yea, Romeo is gonna fit right in here

Back now for the second trip

Securing the wings is actually a lot tougher than the fuselage - had to stop a couple of times to resecure
We lashed two five foot fold up tables onto the ramps then set padding down and layed them face to face
Our distance was pretty short - I'd hate to have to do this for a long haul

I could probably fit three more Luscombe projects in the hangar - just kidding...

Plenty of room to work though

Wrong pulley, just stuck it on there for looks
I'm looking forward to wearing these tires down to the bottoms of the grooves in the not too distnat future
but let's not kid ourselves - there's still much to be done

But this was a BIG day for Project Luscombe!
