One year into the project
All cleaned up and primed
Bagman has one more rib to make
I actually don't need those trim cable holes on this side but just in
case I decide to hang an O-320 on the nose someday....
Time to start cutting the new skins
I traced the center skin from the original
The access hole is what will supposedly allow me to get in and buck the
rivets
The inner ribs will have to be removed so that I can access the riverts
for the outer ribs
It's going to be a bit of a challenge
The strap duplicator allows me to duplicate the holes for the ribs and
spars onto the new skin
Doing the inner rib holes
Ready to start on the outer skin now
Doing the outer rib was tough, it's really tight in there
You can see that when I hit that center rivet on the bottom my bucking
bar was not on it
This is where the Zen of polishing comes in
polishing the bottom of the stab which virtually no one will ever see
Possibly due to all the racket, my little companion is not in the best
of moods today
Outside with a cold pale ale in hand I reflect on the past year
My progress has been respectable
Ahead lie many more challenges
