Flush Patch
Prepping the area where the doubler
patch will be installed
The rivet pattern isn't exactly how
I'd like it to be but I have to work with the existing holes
Here's the doubler getting deburred
Here it is primed and ready to
install
An inside view
Minda bucking the rivets
Not bad for a beginner
Exterior view, ready for fitting the
flush plug
Pretty rediculous looking but it's
not that noticable from the normal viewing angle

I think I did a pretty good job on the fit

I just wonder if the drag produced by all these rivets will cause the
plane to turn right all the time
I'd been getting a few emails after
Christmas from people wondering if I had abandoned the project
I had some work to do on my
brother's Maule last weekend and I set up my old computer in a makeshift office
With about 40 gigabytes of music on the hard drive connected to my
stereo and the internet
I can sit and listen to tunes as I stare at the sattelite picture of
all that fog that has kept me grounded for the past three weeks
The fog has been downright oppressive and I've had a hard time prying
myself out of bed in the mornings
Today the sun finally came out - maybe the weather's about to turn for
the better
Anyway - next sub-project is to polish the fuselage before reinstalling
the gear
It'll make for some real purdy pictures in the coming weeks
