Maule's first annual inspection - day 1
It stopped raining so I decided to head down to Tracy to do some touch
and goes and start the annual
I'd spent a lot of time getting this mobile tool box set up - turned
out that there were a few missing essentials
but that's what this shakedown cruise was all about
I don't know what was up with this but it seemed like all of the fuel
dye had sunk down and concentrated at the strainer
this was about the third sample - the first one looked like India Ink
So I get back after some really awesome touch and goes. The engine is
all warmed up and ready for the compression test
But turns out my brother used up the air to fill his tires so.....
this will have to wait 'till later
The 'Mobile A&P' concept certainly does seem feasable though
I might even invest in a new gas strut and ditch that 1x2
After getting the cowl off and looking around inside I can pretty much
assure you that this has nothing to do with heat
It must have gotten tweaked and I can only think of one possible.....
better shut up
The prop looks fine
I did a tach check and I was seeing about 20 over but it would probably
be better to do this with two people
because there may be some parallax error since the tach is over on the
right side
WOT on climbout was 2380
Ahh, so that's what they look like
Think we're ever gonna use these things?
Jeeze Colin - after all those terrible landings we've made
not a sign of abuse
She's one tough bird!
The old familiar trek home - headed for the well deserved ice cold
IPA!!!
