October 2008
NYNY
Start at the Tappan Zee Bridge and get down to 1000
feet

Along the Hudson Palisades to the George Washington Bridge

The Big Apple - dead ahead

approaching mid-town, southbound at 1000 feet.

Going around "the lady" you have to be LESS than 500 feet. I was around
400, not much higher than the torch it seemed

We were getting a better view than all those folks down there.

Where else on planet Earth could you do this on a whim, just cuz you
felt like it?

There were a few helicopters in the area, but it wasn't a bee hive,
thank God

One last loop, looking towards the Verrazano Narrows Bridge

Leaving Governor's Island, approaching the Battery, the oldest piece of
Manhattan

That's Wall Street

Honest to God... I opened the window and yelled "OK you bastards!!
Get
your shit together or I'm coming down there and give you something to cry
about!!"
It was my primal scream therapy.
Found out later that moments after
this, the market dropped 700 points. I guess they just ignored me.

WTC Ground Zero just to the right of the building with the dome on top

Holland Tunnel ventilation shafts

NY, NY in my rear view mirror
Just like Rocky Balboa, the old Empire State Building is the champ once
again...

Grand Central Station

The Intrepid... a great Maule emergency landing facilty

Of course, the terrain warning page did a COMPLETE wig-out:

Over (barely) the George Washington Bridge, northbound. Central Park is
where all those trees are

I flew on up the Hudson Valley to West Point

The fall colors are going crazy on some of the hills. I'm loving it
