S N O W L I N E
A gorgeous day, crystal clear after almost an entire month of being
mired in dank fog. That's the
snow covered Sierra Madre just visable 90 miles in the distance
My only concern is the howling wind but it's pretty steady and "almost"
lined up with the runway
As I head out across the Big Valley it's obvious that this was a day
that shouldn't be missed
Before I know it I'm just about there.....
The snow line
That's Hetch-Hetchy reservior - a valley that rivaled Yosemite in
beauty but was flooded in a horrid lack of forsight
Yup, that's me havin' a good time again instead of working on Project
Luscombe
Headed back now, this is
Pine
Mountain Lake - a really interesting little airport with a lot of
really cool airplanes
Descending over the foothills now from my high of 10,000 ft
I know it's the wide angle lens but I swear you can see the curvature
of the Earth in this picture
That's Melones Reservior in the distance
The near one - Pine Mountain Lake
The next is Don Pedro Res
The far one? hmmm maybe Woodward or Modesto - not sure
Headed back across the valley
California has two seasons - green and tan (or wet and dry)
I've still got one day left in this weekend - I'll work on the Luscombe
tomorrow!
